Terms of Service

Last updated 28 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Kwela. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Kwela. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

What Kwela does

Kwela is an AI assistant that helps you prepare job applications. You chat with it, share a CV and a job, and it drafts a tailored CV, cover letter and answers. You review the drafts, make your changes and send your application yourself. Kwela never submits an application, contacts an employer, or accepts a job on your behalf.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older and able to make a binding agreement. You need an email address you can receive mail at. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

AI can be wrong

Kwela's drafts are produced by AI and may contain mistakes, gaps or wording that does not suit you. Before you send anything, read it carefully and check every detail, including names, dates, employers, qualifications and contact details. Kwela is told not to invent qualifications, but you are responsible for the truth of any application you submit. We do not promise that a document will get you an interview or a job.

Your content

  • You keep ownership of what you share with Kwela and of the documents drafted for you.
  • You give us permission to process your content, and to pass it to our service providers such as OpenAI, only to provide Kwela to you.
  • Only share information you have the right to share. Do not upload other people's personal information without a good reason and their permission.

Using Kwela properly

Do not use Kwela to:

  • write false or misleading applications, including invented qualifications or experience;
  • break the law or harm, harass or deceive others;
  • attack, overload, probe or try to get around the limits or security of the service, or use automated tools to sign up or send requests;
  • copy, resell or reverse-engineer the service.

Free use and limits

Kwela has limits on how much each account can use, and on how fast. When you reach a limit the app will tell you. We may change the limits, or start charging for some features, and will tell you before we do.

The service can change or stop

We work to keep Kwela available, but we do not promise it will always be on or error-free. We may change, pause or stop parts of it. You can stop using Kwela and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Our responsibility

Kwela is provided "as it is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from relying on AI-written documents, from decisions employers make, or from the service being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under law that cannot be limited, including consumer rights.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya can hear any dispute, unless the law where you live gives you other rights.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app. Using Kwela after a change means you accept it.
